📋 Program Hakkında

The consecutive, more research-oriented master's degree program in Modern Greek Language and Literature enhances and expands the fundamental subject-specific knowledge in the fields of Modern Greek literature and culture that students have acquired during a bachelor's degree program in Modern Greek Language and Literature. The master's degree program in Modern Greek Language and Literature provides students with advanced subject-specific skills, including further language skills in Modern Greek. This program also aims to help students acquire further academic, methodological, and research-oriented qualifications, particularly the ability to analyze texts and cultural phenomena independently, using academic methods, from a critical standpoint and present the results of their analysis appropriately. Students also develop their abilities to analyze gender relations in various social, political, historical, academic, and cultural contexts. Students in this program acquire fundamental, comprehensive, and solid academic skills and knowledge of Modern Greek language and literature as well as the pertinent historical and socio-cultural context, making advanced knowledge of Modern Greek literature, cultural studies, and linguistics possible. The link to other disciplines in the humanities is established through teaching regarding methods that are typical of, and useful in, interdisciplinary academic work. This includes, for instance, application of theories and models of general literature studies and studies of history.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Professionally qualifying German or equivalent foreign degree from a university with a study component of Modern Greek Studies/New Greek Philology of at least 60 LP. * Proof of English or German language skills (CEFR Level B2 receptive). * Proof of Modern Greek language skills (CEFR Level C1) for applicants whose native language is other than Modern Greek and who did not earn their prior degree at an institution where Modern Greek is the language of instruction.
