Romance studies considers Romance languages, literature and cultures. Degree programmes in Portuguese consider these in relation to Portuguese-speaking areas of Brazil. The Bachelor's degree programme in Portuguese 25% encompasses four areas: Literary studies, Linguistics, Cultural studies, and Language practice. Literary studies considers literary texts from Portugal, Brasil and other Portuguese-speaking countries. Linguistics covers linguistic theories, language development, and analysis of the Portuguese language system. Cultural studies addresses topics with a primary focus on Brazil, including the country's development and societal structures. Language practice develops basic skills in Portuguese language.
