📋 Program Hakkında

The two-year Master's program in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics is a scientifically research-oriented program that provides the advanced theoretical foundations and competencies necessary for a comprehensive understanding of the increasingly complex financial and insurance markets. It also represents a connection between mathematics and the field of Financial Economics. Essential contents include: Financial Mathematics, Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics and computer-aided methods, Financial Economics, and Project seminar/internship. Building on the knowledge acquired in the Bachelor's program in Business Mathematics (or Mathematics with an application subject in Economics) with a focus on stochastics/probability theory, the first year consists of advanced lectures and seminars in financial and actuarial mathematics, supplemented by courses in Financial Economics as well as statistics and computer-aided methods. The second year serves to deepen knowledge in an area of financial and/or actuarial mathematics. In addition to advanced lectures, a project seminar (or external internship) and courses for independent scientific work under guidance ('Guided Reading') are planned as preparation for the six-month final thesis. The program is structured into sections: Actuarial and Financial Mathematics (79.5 LP), Statistics and Computational Methods (18-21 LP), Financial Economics (13.5 LP), and Free Electives (9-12 LP).

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Minimum degree required: Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Mathematics or Mathematics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern or at least equivalent examination achievements that include a professionally qualifying university degree (e.g. Bachelor, Diploma) * Special admission requirements: Successfully completed examinations for the modules 'Stochastic Methods' and 'Probability Theory' (or equivalent modules in the field of stochastics to the extent of at least 18 credit points) as well as modules to the extent of at least 16 credit points from the subject Economics of the Bachelor's program in Business Mathematics (or equivalent achievements) * Students from other Bachelor's or Diploma programs, especially students with foreign university degrees, may be admitted with conditions * Admission is grade-based (requires proof of academic aptitude)

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* Non-standard requirements: Sufficient knowledge of German and English is required. Sufficient knowledge of English is considered proven if the university entrance qualification (Abitur or similar) was acquired in Germany or is at least equivalent to one acquired in Germany with regard to English language education.
