📋 Program Hakkında

This English-language degree program is aligned with international benchmarks, offering very good teaching, well-equipped modern laboratories, and opportunities for application-oriented research. The course features interdisciplinarity by design, comprising lectures from 6 faculties and two renowned institutes: Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemical and Chemical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics plus the Robotics Institute and the Fraunhofer Institute for Material flows and Logistics. The challenging range of courses enables students to develop their strengths and form their own profile in one of three major fields: Machine Learning, Process Automation, and Robotics. In the first semester, mandatory courses and Matlab training establish prerequisites for following semesters. In the second and third semesters, compulsory elective modules in the subject-matter focus area may be selected. The project group gives students experience collaborating to tackle a comprehensive scientific-technical problem. In the fourth semester, a Master's thesis in the chosen major is written. Due to the flexibility of the program, it is possible to integrate a stay abroad into studies at any time. The program is interdisciplinary with contributions from 5 main faculties: Electrical Engineering & Information Technology (ETIT), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Computer Science (CS), Bio-Chemical Engineering (BCI), and Mathematics (M), as well as renowned research institutes like the Institut for Roboterforschung (IRF) and the Fraunhofer-Instituts für Logistik (IML). Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, automated driving and smart and collaborative robots have become omnipresent in science, research, and industry. These rapidly advancing technologies have a substantial impact on the economy, society, and all aspects of life: The robots of the future will collaborate with humans in the workplace and assist them in health care, rehabilitation, services, education, and entertainment. More than 450 graduates of the M.Sc. degree program "Automation and Robotics" are already actively engaged in shaping the future of robotics and automation in academia and industry.

* Minimum degree required: BSc or equivalent degree in electrical engineering or a comparable study programme * Minimum Grade Required: 2.0 or higher * Certificates have to be certified by a notary and/or by the Ministry of Education or German consulates or respective authorities. For enrolment, they have to be presented in the original.

* TOEFL pbt: 590 or better * TOEFL cbt: 230 or better * TOEFL ibt: 95 or better * IELTS: 7 or better * Non-standard requirements: English proficiency on C1 level. English language skills are only acknowledged through an official test. Exception: studying in countries such as USA, UK or Australia (mainland locations only).
