Academic content In this Summer School programme, you will explore sustainable energy technologies, especially in the context of buildings. As a participant, you will learn about building performance simulation and methods for energy supply of buildings as well as energy trading and power plant management. The classes cover fundamentals of modelling and simulation to carry out dynamic building simulations. Furthermore, a case study featuring energy efficient technology and a business simulation game featuring energy trading and power plant management enable students to apply their knowledge in a practical manner. Overall, you will reach an understanding of energy efficiency for buildings on a micro-level, and you will also be able to consider connections on a macro-level. For further information about this programme, click here. Visit our website for more courses! After your arrival on Sunday, we will gather for a welcome orientation. In the following weeks, there will be a lot of social events to support the instruction and the course-related activities. At these events, you can get to know the other participants, our beautiful city of Aachen, and the places in the surrounding area. Then during the last days of your stay, you will take a final exam to earn your certificate. At the weekends and after the farewell event, you can take advantage of the short travel distances and discover more of Germany and Europe on your own or with your new friends! Target group: Become part of our international student community if you are: at least 18 years old in a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme, in between these programmes, or if you recently graduated proficient in the English language It is an advantage if you are in a degree programme related to our programme. A basic understanding of power generation and power systems, electrochemical systems, or electricity systems and their components is desirable.
